You and me, maybe, although I am in a much worse position. But a lot of people in the minimum wage bracket will only "survive" it by very sad narrow and limited value of "survive".

Not sure we did survive Thatcher. If the universities collapse this year (and they might) it will be a legacy of her reforms, cutting them loose from central funding and chopping up what central funding there was.

Did we survive Thatcher? As the recent financial crisis shows, she's still destroying the country even after nearly 20 years out of office.

Anyway, I expect this government to be all over by Christmas.
